Amazon America announced that it decided to start calculating and collecting sales tax on FBA orders sold to Florida and Kansas from July 1.
The announcement shows that due to changes in US local tax laws, Amazon has increased sales taxes on two continents. Up to now, more than 45 states in the United States have to pay sales tax, and the remaining 5 states are also negotiating and implementing new tax laws.
Tax levy is imminent, and there is no tax pressure for Amazon. The pressure is mainly on Amazon sellers. Since then, the cost of sellers in the US will increase significantly.
Although nearly 90% of the states in the United States have to collect sales tax, in fact, the consumption tax rate of each state is not the same, ranging from 6-8%.
In addition, the calculation and collection of taxes and fees are mandatory and automatic by Amazon, and the process is relatively silent. Amazon will not remind you of orders that generate taxes.
